Women and the Economy

On August 26, 2010, Americans celebrated the 90th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th amendment, which granted women the right to vote and led to their increased participation in our political system. In 1984, Geraldine Ferraro shattered the political glass ceiling by becoming the first woman nominated to a national ticket and ushered in a new era of political leadership for women.

22nd Africa Festival Wuerzburg – A peaceful festival of culture and entertainment

Dady Mimbo welcomed early visitors to the 22nd Africa festival in Wuerzburg with trance music from Cameroon before the official opening ceremony . In order to keep the visitors in festive mood and give a taste of what could be expected in the next festival days, his performance was followed by the South African music artist Zivaduma that provided entertaining mixture of percussion and pop music.

Africa Festival Wuerzburg 2010 (21st – 24th May)

The next Africa Festival Wuerzburg will take place from 21st till 24th May 2010. The international Africa festival is arguably the largest of its kind in Europe with over 100.000 visitors in 2009.
